On 30 April this year the laying of the foundation stone of the Rolls-Royce Mechanical Test Operations Centre (MTOC) was celebrated in Dahlewitz. Alongside Stefan Zimmermann, the Managing Director of Rolls-Royce MTOC GmbH, the Head of the regional district of Teltow-Fläming, Peer Giseske, addressed and greeted the assembled MTOC-team members and representatives present from the participating companies. This important milestone marks the beginning of the actual building phase for the MTOC building, the construction of which is set to make enormous progress over the coming weeks. The topping out ceremony has already been planned to take place at the end of June.
Alongside external visual development, the assembly of the future MTOC-workforce has commenced as planned. The first MTOC-employees to be deployed on the new site have already been sent to Derby to be instructed and trained on the test facilities still installed there.
To coincide with the installation of the new test facilities, September will see the first test machines transferred from Derby to Dahlewitz that will initiate the beginning of the operational trial run due to take place before the end of the year.
