A successful story – Lufthansa Technik AG Wheels and Brakes Shop
With the URS development OPM Supported the project already during the development phas. The determined objective was to build a production facility, which combines optimal processes, smart logistics and state-of-the-art equipment.
The previously determined functional room concepts created the basis for the production process as well as the dimensioning and allocation of the necessary equipment.
From the first idea to the completed building – In the beginning of 2017, the 14.500 sqm facility started operation. Through the high level of automation and optimal machine utilisation, the implemented workshop layout guarantees a very high competitiveness.
Moreover, the implemented IT functions support the autonomous production control in the spirit of Industry 4.0.
OPM assisted the project at Frankfurter Osthafen until the commissioning and the successful closure of the overall project. The project was implemented and completed according to schedule due to accelerating measures using a fast and solution-orientated approach.
What distinguished us during the process? Where did the particular challenges lie?

- Devise User Requirement Specification (programming)
- Client representation
- Overall project Steering for equipment and construction – mediation between both departments
- BIM Management with clash detection to continuously monitor / review the respective models of discipline acc. to the defined requirements
