N3 Engine Overhaul Services

N3 Engine Overhaul Services is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and Rolls Royce. To this effect, a shop was constructed in Arnstadt, near Erfurt in Germany, for the overhaul of Rolls-Royce engines.

The new shop essentially comprises three buildings:

• Factory shop with logistics: 35.600 m2
• Administrative offices with canteen: 3.500 m2
• Engine Test Bed: 4.900 m2

We undertook project management of the N3 project whilst it was already in its start-up phase and focused on the following core competencies::

• Analysis and compilation of the user requirements specification (URS)
• Project management in accordance with § 31 of the Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers (German ‘HOAI’), work phases 1-5
• Legal project management
• Project leadership

Thanks to the flexibility of our specialised team we were able to effectively transform and implement the highly complex N3 project – a complexity due to intricate production processes of engine warranty, the engine test bed affiliated with these and also the short implementation stage of 12 months – with solution-oriented competence and professionalism, enabling the production stage to start on schedule.
