Concepts for New Maintenance Center

A growth concept for a new maintenance center at Berlin Schönefeld Airport (SXF, later named as BER) was developed with Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services and its partners. This involved the expansion of capacities, the number of employees and a change in the aircraft models to be maintained. The hangar area was optimized to 9,000 m², taking future expansion measures into account, and a gross floor area of 18,500 m² was achieved with the associated workshops. Various options – including the use of the taxiways (SF1) or the infrastructure – were examined and agreed with Lufthansa Technik AG, the airport company and other project partners in light of the existing synergies between the functional areas.

What made us stand out?

  • Efficient conduct of negotiations while adherence to tight deadlines
  • Concept development with focus on the utilization of possible synergies between LBAS and other agencies and structures at SXF
