Lufthansa Technik, one of the market leaders in engine maintenance, has built a new shop for CFM56 maintenance in Hamburg. The new maintenance hangar is to set new standards worldwide. The claim was: “Best in Class”.
The complexity of the overall project was reflected in the following sub-projects:
- Continuous advice on optimising the maintenance process
- Advance infrastructure measures
- Construction of an office and maintenance hall within 12 months
- Commissioning of the hall during ongoing production Integration of a logistics center for the entire site
The user requirements program “URS” developed by OPM was successfully completed within 8 weeks with the involvement of all parties and subsequent approval by the committees. In addition to the pure project management for the construction project, the main challenge was the integration of the ongoing results of the core process optimization and the transition-free commissioning of the maintenance hall, which OPM was able to realize on schedule without interrupting production.
