URS – XEOS Engine Overhaul Facility
Lufthansa Technik AG and General Electrics were starting a joint venture to build a new center for engine overhaul in Eastern Europe. The first step is to draw up a user requirement specification for the construction of a factory with an adjacent test stand using state-of-the-art technologies and at the same time maximizing flexibility for the process. In conjunction with the test rig, 200 engines per year will be overhauled and tested on 20,000 square meters of floor space. As the link between the joint venture partners, OPM moderated the specification of the URS parameters objectives, facts, concepts, requirements and tasks for the planner.
